Ford VIN# frame was built in 2009, but FR built the actual Georgetown RV as a 2011 model.

1 yr older chassis than the MH is normal, 2009 was a really bad yr for MH manufactures.
Our 2013 was built and sold in 2012 on a 2011 chassis.

My 2012 Georgetown is on a Ford chassis built Oct 2011 but the motorhome was built in April 2012 and shows as a 2012 on my vehicle registration.
My insurance company used the VIN and said it was a 2011 but I explained that the motorhome was built in 2012 and was sold as a 2012 motorhome.
Now are you saying your 2011 Georgetown model was built on a 2009 Ford chassis?
I guess that is possible but more likely you actually have a 2010 Georgetown. I'd check you paperwork from the dealer as well as the sticker on the wall behind drivers seat. Did you buy new or used?

2011 Georgetown 30
Thanks to those who responded, I will see if I can get a record
from Forest River. My car fax says that our unit is a 2009 Workhorse Custom Chassis Motorhome Chassis W22 and the paperwork says 2011 Georgetown 30. We have heard that the Workhore Chassis is no longer being made after 2009. The dealer originally said that this was a Ford V10 Vortex engine and it appears that the engine is a 8.1L V8 OHV 16V. The title info from the car fax also says that the issue date was June of 2010 with a milage of 2,736. We love the motorhome but are kicking ourselves for not doing the homework until after the purchase. This was truly an impulse buy with alot of pressure to make an immediate decision. I have a call into the dealer to review but haven't heard back yet. We paid $59,950 with current 7900 miles on it. It's is a 30 foot MH. We are afraid that the 2 year difference could affect future sale or trade in. We have not done the pre-inspection yet, purchased on
Presidents day. We didn't even look at the engine or the tires just a
test drive. Stupid I know.

Our 2008 National Pacifica was built on a 2007 Freightliner Chassis with a 2006 CAT diesel motor.

Normal! the in service date for warranty will be the date you actually take delivery. even the warranty on the chassis will be from that date. I wouldn`t worry too much, it is normal in the RV industry.

That frame to coach year discrepancy would really bite when trying to sell it to someone that's not aware of it. "Show me the CarFax".

First, welcome to the Georgetown Forum.
As others have posted, it is quite common to have a motorhome chassis that is a year or two earlier than the motorhome model year. As the motorhome continues to age, the difference in the manufacturing dates will be of even less concern. Don't think of yourself as stupid, it sounds like you got a good price on a low mileage used motorhome. The original owner took a huge depreciation hit purchasing it brand new, and then had to deal with all the little problems that turn up in the first year. I did the same as you in purchasing a 2010 Georgetown (built on a 2009 chassis) in 2012.
Check over everything carefully at the dealer before taking delivery, and have any problems noted to be fixed. Here is a pre-delivery checklist you can use: RV Inspection Checklist

Bad times they were!!!!!!
Not unlike a lot of others..........we have a 2010 model year Georgetown, but because of the economic downturn we were just coming out of (no one wants to say recession or worse) our rig was built on a 2008 model year Ford chassis.
The Ford has it's own VIN # and the Georgetown has it's own VIN #.
The changes between Ford chassis of 2008 and 2010 were minimal......just a few more information screens on the dash....MPG, avg speed etc. Same V10 engine and 5 speed tranny. It's all good.

Cornelius thanks for the check list. We are going tomorrow to do a partial wak-thru, test drive and sign papers on a 2014 Georgetown XL 378. They are doing some modificaitons for us, if all goes well we will be doing a final walk-thru next Friday. Then the fun begins with transferring all our stuff from the 5th wheel to the GT.
