2012 378ts refer
iam confused about this refer.when on electric, and on 3 temp, water purged ice maker takes 2 to 3 days to work? on lp temp setting on 3 also readout says 37 thats good then all of a sudden i hear a noise that lasts about 45 minutes and then it gets quiet.while at rv park last weekend the rv tec. said this is a cooling fan.i said ok,he said turn up temp.noise went away after 45 min.so what is this noise it sure doesnt sound like any fan i have ever heard.ice maker only works on electric, is this true.other than that it works ok.what does everybody run there temp. at.i know that different days these things can be funny.maybe on higher temp, like 4 maybe????

I believe what you are hearing is indeed a cooling fan. I hear it cycle on and off on mine also, mainly on hot/humid days which makes sense. It is a little annoying though.
As far as your ice maker goes, Your fridge will work on ac or propane, but the ice maker is ac only.

I assume you mean a tray to catch water from the cooling fins when defrosting. If so, yes. Water is channeled through a tube that can be found in the outside access panel and then, of course, drips down the outside of the coach leaving water stains on the paint.

The refer has two fans. They are located behind the top vent panel outside the coach wall. These two fans cycle on and off to cool the upper coil. I have had to replace both of these fans in the first 10 hours of operation. They became very very noisy. They are just 12 volt fans that easily unplug and dismantle from the frame with 2 screws. The fans are common cooling fans used on electronic equipment. The cycling of trhe fans especially in the middle of the night is very annoying.......but.......what choice do we have.

Your fridge will work much more efficiently on propane than electric, BUT...your icemaker won't operate. Sort of a catch 22 situation!
