2012 Georgetown 378xl slides
My front two slides are rubbing the coating off on the bottom. This is on the very edge, both edges on the main slide and on one edge on the other. When I first got the motor home it was bad on the main slide, took it to a RV repair ,they said it look like maybe a screw was rubbing but they could not find it. Are any of the other GT 378 wearing on the bottom edge of the slide The bed room slide is fine, but a lot less weight.

Mine is a 2013 378 xl and is doing the same. I think it rubs on the edge of tile floor when slide goes in. I suspect many other 378 xls are doing the same. A metal bottom would prevent this as some other manufactures do on higher end units. I suspect forest river is not using metal to avoid scratching the floor when the slides move in and out?

My 2012 378XL was doing the same thing, forest river fixed last year at the rally for me. They said this was a issue that they are aware of and fix all the time.

My 2013 378 was doing the same thing. They installed a plastic guide strip for the slide outs to ride on. Last week one of those broke and hung up the slide. I got it off and the slide is working but the plastic fix they did sucks. They need a metal strip for the slide outs to ride on. I am going to contact them when I get back home next month. I am in Florida for the month. Even though the unit is out of warranty, I am hoping they will fix it, since it was fixed once with a crappy repair. What a poor plan to let the slide out ride on wood.

Even through I do not have a MH, I had the same problem with the plastic glide strip on 1 slide that has a stove, refer and sofa on it so it's heavy. I got tired of replacing the strip every 6 mos. I called FR and ordered 4 of them and then decided to have them made out of stainless steel. Had both slides replaced with them and have not had a problem since. Had them fabricated at a metal shop out of 16 ga. metal. If I had to do it over I would use 18 ga instead. I fought that for 2 years. Everytime in the dealer for a month to get it done. Some times it better to just make what you need instead of replacing garbage all the time.....

When my rig was new I noticed the edges on the bottom of the slides ripping the wood. I had Teflon pads installed by FR approval which had been working well.
Sorry no pictures of the after but the Teflon pads goes the full length and are thick and have recessed screw holes for mounting.
Here is a part that Lippert has that is used inside to protect carpet.
It looks like this but has a nice wraparound edge on mine for the outside length.

Iggy that is exactly what is happening. I can't believe the poor design put out by a manufacturer that has been around for years, and ins fully aware of the problem. Did you get the pad with the 90 deg angle from FR or Lippert?

Actually it was under warrantee and FR approved it and my dealer got them locally and installed on all slides.
Only wish I knew what they are called.
Slide skirts? Slide Gliders?
I have tried but no luck.

Forest river sent me two plastic strips to go under my main slide . they are to be glue on, and go the full width of the slide. How can I get them between the bar the slide rides on and the bottom of the slide?

I would cut them and slide them in and glue in place then. Be alot easier then pulling things off or dropping them and have to realign everything. If I understand you correctly.

slides
I have a 2013 378Xl and my slides are doing the same thing. Last year we had that on our repair list at Goshon but they did not have time to repair it. So this year I will put it on the list again. I will ask them about the stainless steel like Iggy's.

Last year at Goshen they added "wear bars" under the living room slides on our 2011 378, which have stopped the wafer board from wearing. They are metal and painted to match the exterior color. I noticed the bedroom slide already had them.
They had to cut a groove in the nylon rub blocks the slide rides on so that the wear bars wouldn't catch as the slide moves in or out.

Mine are doing the same thing
Forest River suggested I take it to my local dealer to have it evaluated.
Has anybody else taken theirs to a dealer and did FR pay for the repair?
Mine is a 2013 378.
Thanks
