2014 vs. 2015

We are currently looking at 328 and 329 models and the dealer has both 2014 and 2015 years available. Can those in the know explain some of the model year differences? I have read that the 2015's have a 2000 watt inverter as opposed to the 1000 watt inverter for residential fridges, but what other differences are there?

Can't the dealer inform you of the changes? That's what they are there for.

I bet their the only differences are minor cosmetic and no major innovational changes.
The only difference is the price difference. Obviously the 2014 will be cheaper then the 2015 and the dealer wants the 2014's off the lot and would be ready deal.

Good luck

Ask for their invoice sheets and then compare. Advertisement is a big word.

Thanks for the feedback. We have asked the dealers and they are putting together answers for us based on the list of questions we have asked. Yes, the 2014's are being pushed hard to get them off the lot but we see some nice new builds in the 2015's that may be worth getting (if it is getting what we really want.) Keep any feedback coming!!

2014 vs. 2015

Hey bud. I bought a 15 two months ago and here are the differences I see. Also talked to forest river and there are no plans on releasing a new 15 brochure yet dunno why because there are allot of changes visually.

2000 watt inverter
Switched to furrion TVs and convection oven
Exterior color choices are different
Interior color choices are different
Some floor plans are the same but put different things I.E. Tvs and lights, windows in different spots.
The pattern of the hardwood looking floor is different.
The cockpit is redesigned. 15 have a engine cover console and better ledge slash cup holder for the drivers side. I have a 15 and this wasn't available on mine.
There is also a roller shade option now in 15. Again I have a 15 and this wasn't a option.
There is a different home theater so instead of it being in the dash it is located somewhere in the coach.

I really wish my 15 has the roller shade option ( 14's have a cockpit roller shades but now you can have them on all the windows). And I really like the new cockpit setup.

Here is a link that shows everything. It's a 351 since that's what I have and I could compare.

Mack1roc, thanks for that feedback and the link! The 2015 Georgetown 329 that we just looked at has the same color upholstery but a stone tile pattern on the linoleum, which looks pretty nice and lightens the interior. It also had the engine cover console and the small table between he front seats, plus the drivers side ledge cup holder as you described. It also had the entertainment center controls over the entry door, as the pictures in the link show.

I didn't notice the roller shade options, I just guessed it was power shade for the front window and manual pull shades on the sides.

I also noticed the sleeper sofa has recliner footrests like a La-Z-Boy. Pretty cool. I saw 4 house batteries in the battery compartment, so I would guess that helps the residential fridge with the 2000 watt inverter being able to last for the reported 24 hours on battery power.

The 329 we are looking at has an interior almost exactly like the 329 in this link:
2015 Forest River Georgetown 329DS Full Body Paint, Res. F, Alvarado TX - - RVtrader.com

All in all, I like the options shown on the 2015 and the wife is convinced we should get a 2015 over the deal presented with the 2014. I just always want to know all of the details when spending this kind of money.

I wanna chime in here too since we are seriously considering the 329 as well.

I noticed that many of the newer 2015's seem to be coming equipped with a reclining sofabed a-la the type FR is putting in the FR3's. Anyone else noticed this?

It is frustrating that FR won't post the newest information on their website re the Georgetowns.

The 329 that we are considering has the recliner sofabed, but that doesn't seem to be the standard for all 2015 models. There was another 2015 329 that did not have the recliner sofabed (nor did it have the table between the front seats as some do.) I think the recliner sofabed is a "nice to have" vs. a "need to have" but it does kinda substitute for the chair in the 328 with the ottoman.
