2015 351DS shock mounts
Our 2015 351DS recently started producing an odd bumping sound beneath the drivers seat while coming home from Taos, NM. It happened when diving over a bump or uneven road, which there are a lot in New Mexico. I found the answer on this forum, someone else had the same issue. May be something owners wanna get checked at your Ford House. It was a warranty fix. Our mechanic found the problem within a couple of minutes. The bolts used with the shock mounts were too short causing the shocks to slide on the threads.
Look I'm no mechanic and I've got a write up of the exact issue. But if you have 2015 FR 351DS, maybe other models as well, after you get a front end alignment have the shock mounts checked.
It was an easy fix, but could have been disastrous down the road.
