2016 F150 Toad

Ok...new truck gets delivered here in a couple days...they are really pricing the 16s to move! I traded in my 2014 XLT to a 2016 XLT with the new body style and a few more gadgets...got the 2.7 eco as well. This new truck is a lot lighter so i can tow it, and is ready from the manufacturer to tow 4 wheels down!

My sticker on my 16 was about 3,700 more than my sticker on my 14..and i traded up 2 years for only 6,500 bucks! I think thats a steal!

Anyways, asked this before but couldnt find it....I think i need the following:

1. Tow bar - Which ones best blend of cost/features? Blue Ox name comes to mind, about 400 bucks?

2. Base Plate - Blue ox, about 400 bucks again plus install?

3. Supplemental brake...which one? Brakebuddy is name I have seen a lot, figure around 1,000 bucks....

4. Wiring for lights? cheap magnetic ones for around 50 bucks?

5. Rock guard...just saw the post for that....100 bucks!

Is there a place that does this entire set up for you at a fair price? I seem to get the idea stay away from camping worlds....what would be reasonable to pay for this all ready to go?

Thanks for the help!

Check all the items you want around the internet.
Then go here and see if they are better.
I have used Etrailer.com for a few items over the years and found most of their prices are lower than all the rest.

Will the magnetic lights stick anywhere on that aluminum body?
Personally, I'd add lights to the rear taillight lens so the install is clean. This worked best on our Yukon.

Hm, what's the reason for staying away from Camping World? I have been talking to them about doing an install for me. Roadmaster baseplate, Roadmaster Sterling tow bar, Invisibrake, wiring kit (keep the toad's battery charged), and switch for the toad brake lights. Whole quote they gave me is about $3900 with parts, labor, and tax. There are cheaper components they are happy to install if I want, but after research I like these.

The prices for their individual components are a bit higher than what I could find online, but no way in hell I'm installing that baseplate on my C-Max myself. I've watched the process and I don't have the time or experience for something like that, so I don't mind paying the slight premium to get them to do it. I did call another place in town and their quote was very similar, so don't feel I'm getting ripped off, and I really liked the service guy I talked to.

Does Camping World have a rep for bad work or what?

I like that light bar!

Just hear not so good about camping world a lot is all. I'll probably buy used on Craigslist for hopefully half on brake buddy and bar, so figure 1,500 in gear should be set then just install. Hard to swallow 4K for it all...id rather be under 2,500 for all if possible.
