270s TV Help

I have a 270s that didn’t come with a DVD player. If I want to put one in the unit, along with a new antenna to pick up more TV stations, I have 2 questions:
  1. Can I put the DVD player behind the TV which is over the sink or do I have to put it in the small cabinet over the passenger’s side of dash board were the box for antenna/cable/satellite is and seems there are wires there?
  2. Does anyone know if I replace the antenna, which model would be a good choice, since the stock one is pretty poor and doesn’t pick up too much? We’re wondering if these units were pre-wired for an antenna that will automatically search for the best reception. The stock one cannot even be adjusted manually from inside to fine tune…uhg!

Our 270 we can play a DVD on the front TV from the front Panasonic Radio. Just need to get the right input.
