30A-50A Y adapter experiences?

Have any of you guys used a 30A -50A Y adapter ( 50 A from 2 - 30A sources ) available from RV supply places like Camping World . MH has 50 A but campsite we're in is only 30A. I have access to neighbouring site (also 30A) and wondered about using one of these.
Would appreciate hearing experiences both good and bad

On my rig when I use this 30 amp in the park and use my convertor cable you are only using one 120volt 30 amp phase and splitting it 50/50 so you still have power to everything.
Now with that in mind if you have and run both roof AC units you will trip the shore power breaker.

You can still use most stuff but if you use the microwave while using the electric water heater it may also exceed the 30 amp shore power breaker.

Remember you always have your battery charger running plus whatever else you may be running like TV and lights.

Hope this help you.

I have seen some individuals use a pig tail that uses the 30A and the 20A of the same pole and plug in their 50 amp MH plug into it. Not sure if you are getting the true 50amp service. Something else to consider...

Haven't used one, but it should work fine I'd think. Unless there could be a phase issue? I'm just dangerous to have a basic electrical understanding but hopefully you'll continue to get good discussion.

Yes and works just fine. If you have access to 2 separate 30amp services and use the Y it gives you 2 30 amp legs into your mh. Much better power and usually can use everything, both ac units. I have the TRC surge gaurd with digital monitor so I can see my amp load and see the incoming voltage on both lines. As Ramair said he's seen, you can put a 30-20 plug adaptor on one leg of Y and use the 30amp and 20 amp plugs on most poles. But you should not run ac that's on the 20 amp leg. It helps to have the monitor and protection to keep it safe.

The 30/20 Y will not give you 50 amp service. A 50 amp plug is actually 100amps (50amps on each leg).

The only issue I could see was if the neutral from the two 30a services was out of phase for some reason. Now if you're talking two on the same pole, I really, really can't see that being an issue. If you're running a 30a extension cord from a different pole I might be leery but even then the odds of the two neutrals being out of phase I believe to be minimal.
