351DS Water Filter

How do you unscrew the water filter thats in the exterior compartment thats next to the city water inlet, black tank flush, etc?

I tried using the plastic white socket thing but it didnt move. The whole filter and cap seems loosely mounted so I didn't want to use much force.

I'm just trying to drain it for storage. Thanks.

Most likely water pressure built up - open the outdoor shower valve and it should come off.

You will need some pressure to get it loose.

When you replace the filter cartridge, also replace the O-ring in the filter housing. The O-ring kit includes a small tube of silicone gel that is applied to the O-ring and makes future filter removal much easier. Home Depot sells the O-ring kits; they are located near the replacement filters.

My 2010 Georgetown 373 has a Water Pur CCI-10-CLW filter, which uses a standard size home water filter replacement. It's not a KW1 filter. I don't think Home Depot sells the specialty size KW1 water filter. They sell GE brand standard size filters and O-ring kits, which also fit home water filters made by other companies. I just bought an O-ring gasket kit yesterday for $2.48.
