352 xl video issue

Hi y'all , I'm new to this forum so please bear with me. My family and I just bought a 2015 GT QS352XL, used with 7K miles on it. I'm having trouble getting video to play inside. No matter what I do, if I put a dvd in the front dash stereo, I get the "Stop the vehicle and engage parking brake warning". The video root menu comes up on the living room tv, a no video screen on the front overhead tv, and cannot control the video to play it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and looking forward to talking to y'all.

BTW, the dash stereo is made by Clarion and there is no info on this unit in the big pack of manuals we received.

You can go to Clarion.com and get the manual for your unit.

There is a ground wire going to a switch that is activated (makes ground) when set the emergency brake. If that switch does not work right, the DVD thinks you are driving down the road and it will not let you watch a DVD.
It is a warranty problem. Mine also did this when I first bought it new. 2014 GT 360 XL.
Home repair: ground the Lawn Green wire going to the switch on the Emer Brake.

352 xl video issue

Thank you! It will take me a couple days to let you know how I make out. While we're on the subject, has anyone ever bypassed or removed that cutout switch so the tv would work down the road? Do you know if the switch is behind the dash panel, or do I need to practice my yoga to get down by the pedals? Thanks again.

The switch on my unit is in the overhead on the passenger side, where the tv plugs in. the TV actually plugs into it. you can simply unplug the relay and plug the TV directly into the outlet. or just unplug the red/white plug that tells the relay when the ignition is engaged.

Thanks everyone. CB13, I tried that exact thing last night with no change...is there something else I could be doing wrong? Also, does anyone else have a clarion system up front, or is mine something the original owner replaced? Thanks,I've never really been in forums before and I'm lovin' it!

I have the Clarion system installed in my Coach.

Did you have the Generator running when you tried to bypass the TV ignition lockout?

Nope, plugged into 50 amp. I'd go out right now and figure it out except for the thunderstorm. I can't wait to post that this worked. BTW, does your Clarion have a remote? The one for the Jenseno on the exterior tv is missing so I have to order a replacement. No big deal.

Yes the Clarion has a remote as well. I think my coach came with a total of 8 Remotes.

4 for the large TV's
2 for the Bunk TV's
1 for the Clarion
1 for the Jensen

Thanks so much, this will clear up what is the only issue we're having with the coach so far. I'll let you know later how I make out with the e-brake switch.

OK, still at square one. CB, I unplugged the o'head tv from the box with the red/white cannon plug and plugged directly into outlet. Also unplugged cannon plug itself. No luck...still audio only warning on clarion monitor and no video screen on tv when input on video. Regular tv stations work just fine when input changed, even if engine on and in drive?? Any other suggestions greatly appreciated. The video root menu still comes up on living room tv but can't control/play it due to warning screen on clarion unit. Remote for it and Jensen unit outside confirmed missing after thorough search so will have to replace. That part's easy.

OK..just to clarify. the disconnecting of the safety relay at the outlet allows the TV to be on while the engine is running. the issue you have with the video is at the Nav/Multimedia unit. there is a ground detection wire that is wired to the parking brake that needs to be connected to the chassis ground of the head unit. the easiest way to access that area is to remove the 6 screws that hold the plastic dash surround (with the radio, aux buttons, 12v outlet, and climate control unit) and slide it all out of place so you can see behind the head unit easily.

Wow, thanks, I'll dig into it in the next couple days. Do you know what color wire and where it should be attached that I'm looking for. I don't consider myself and electronics whiz.

The wire should be green.

Which head unit do you have? Mine has Nav built in.
