377 Batteries???

Can one of electrical "experts" explain the battery system on my 2014 377?

Here is what I have-
1 battery under "hood"
2 batteries under steps
2 batteries in compartment left of steps

One under the hood is the battery to start the RV, the 2 under the step are the coach batteries, and I'm not sure about the other 2?

I'm no expert by any means....

I seem to recall reading somewhere that 4 6 volt house batteries were an option on the '14 XLs

How many plastic caps do you see on the top of these batteries you see?

I agree, that the one under the hood is for the automotive part of starting the engine (should have 6 caps = 12 volt battery) also know as your "chassis" battery.

The ones under the steps are usually your "house" batteries to run your house lights, roof fans and such, requiring 12 volts to operate.

Each 12 volt battery will have 6 plastic caps (my rig only has two 12V "house" batteries located under the steps) but like was mentioned, your rig may have four 6 volt batteries to do the same (3 caps = 6 volt battery)

All are 12v. I might add that I have a residential fridge and there is an inverter under the passenger seat along with the other switches

If in fact it is an extra option, I bet you FR started offering the option of the extra 2 batteries in the compartment because of the residential fridge. Mine is 2013 and only has the 2 under the steps. I have read many postings where people complained that when dry camping they woke up and their fridge was off because the batteries only last 5 hours or so running the residential fridge.
