378 slide area dimensions

Ready to put that shiny new tape measure from Santa to work?

I need the measurements of the living room slide areas on the 378 (height, width, depth). On the driver's side, I just need the area forward of the kitchen counter (where the sofa starts). I've searched FR and this forum, can't find 'em.

Also, can't find any weight restrictions for the slides. In case you swap the furniture for something heavier, how heavy can you go? Or are you OK as long as you stay within the GVWR?

Possibly. Or maybe a deeper, longer sofa sleeper. I'm 6'3", would be nice to have one where I can stretch all the way out between the arms (those are rare). And I doubt I'll be able to stand upright in the slide, just wondering how much I'll have to hunch over to keep from bangin' my noggin' on the top of the frame. Do they make bumper pads for those things?

On that subject, how's the shower experience for you tall guys and gals?

I'm looking around for 2 wall-hugger recliners to replace the couch. Then a table between. Any good ideas or pictures would be helpful folks.

Slide length=98", sofa is 69" and chair is 29". There's no room left over. Slide is 29" depth, sofa over hangs by 3-4". Height is 69" but you mst subtract 12" for overhead cabs. Unless you levitate leaving chair or sofa you cannot strike your head.
Dining space is similar with no overhead cabs. Hope it's useful.

Sure....found a "home theater" combo with center storage. Have room at the end for a table with a file cabinet for all the important papers. We also have a lamp there, makes it look like home. Notice the lack of carpet. You can just barely see the runner that we use down the center of the living area.

Found the "home theater" seating at a furniture outlet on sale for 50% off. Cost us $1100. All real leather, too. We just lucked out. We had been looking for awhile but they were all way to expensive. And they do recline, are wall-away style and in fact, they sleep great! We have a duplex outlet on the exterior wall close to the kitchen. That is where the orginal hide a bed air pump was plugged in.

Nice setup. So they fit well on the floor of the slide or do you have to move them before the slide is moved in or out?

Also how difficult was it to get them in the door?

LazyBoy is expensive stuff but I will look.

once the slide is out, we pull them forward about 6" to make sure they clear the wall and day/night shades.

Backs come off. easy to get in MH.

Do they sit on a wooden pedistal or on a metal frame with 4 points touching carpet

Lostdog I still want to lnow how you got them into the rig?
Did the whole thing come in parts?
I'm considering something similiar but worried about the steel frome underneath making the slide difficult to open and close.

Does the back come off of the recliners?

This one only needs 3" wall space to recline horizontally
It doesn't move much at the regualer recline but goes down and out.

Hope this helps. My bride thinks the unit is a discontinued Broyhill couch. The unit came apart into five sections: 2 backs, 2 seats and 1 center section. Very easy to get into the coach. The hard part was getting the old out. Had to remove (disassemble) the hide a bed part, remove the chrome assist handle at the door and slide the old couch out. Sold the old couch and matching EuroChair on CraigsList for $300. The new unit came with a tubular metal frame that I used appropriate sized metal conduit hanger brackets to screw into the plywood slide floor. Very secure. Mounted the couch with the backs only about an inch from the wall because the backs drop almost straight down when reclining. The seat belts are attached to the slide floor so they still work, though we never carry people with us. We stand by the old saying "6 folks for a party, 4 folks for dinner, TWO sleep here!"

P.S. 61 days till fulltiming!!!!!

Earlier someone said that the dinette slider was 98" wide. Can you tell me how much the fireplace unit takes up of that? I am looking at having a desk with permanent computer monitors built in where the dinette is. I will have a slide out section under the desk to pull out for eating. My concern is how much width I have to have a desk custom built. I need the space for a few monitors - not just papers and computer. I have ordered my 378 but haven't received it yet and am trying to do some forward planning. I have looked on the internet but haven't found any detailed dimension specs for the 378. Thanks for any assistance.
