4-Wheel Alignment Cost

For those of you that have aligned your coach: What's the average cost?

We decided to stop in a truck shop that advertised wheel alignment and the tech said that our rear end was a bit off and that I would most likely need front adjustment. The tech just eye balled things and said it would be around 300 bucks. We left and decided to contact FR for an approval. I would have paid for it if it was no more than 150 bucks which I think it's fair.

Now, FR says they need measurements from the shop and a written estimate. Well, we are not paying that shop anything because I'm pretty sure 300 is a rip off. They won't give me measurements because that is part of the alignment procedure.

Well considering that a car four wheel alignment is in the $80-120 range that's actually a little high, but not too bad.

Taking the measurements is part of doing the alignment but it's just the first step. They can officially measure it and should be able to provide a printout, if they want the job an estimate is part of getting that job.

4 wheel alignments for medium and heavy duty trucks are usually done at posted labor rate with a slight discount for a front end alignment which usually is just a toe check and adjustment.

I paid $140 for front alignment on my new GT360 XL . Then complained to FR and got a reimbursement check. The alignment was way off from the factory. Got the alignment at a international motor truck dealership. Unless there has been some damage and the mh drives crooked (ie. the front or the rear closer to the edge if the pavement than the other end), there is no need to align the rear axle.

Well, I'm a little concerned because when I installed the Blue Ox Trac, the bar that links the axle to the frame was a tad bit too long. I confirmed that I ordered the correct kit for my frame so could it be that the axle is actually off a little bit? That could certainly cause the fitment issue and why the tech said the rear was off.

We paid $200, and FR reimbursed us for it. Said they would reimburse within 90 days of purchase.
