Not sure what you are possibly inferring, but krod never said it was the factory that wired it wrong. He has recently purchased a used RV and the gfci did not work. He fixed his as he stated, and his post was helpful as it shows something to look for in solving the problem.

It's all good, and lets keep moving forward as the site team may need to get involved here and delete some posts.

50 Amp Service

Since Both AC's are working it is a good chance you have power on both L1 & L2. But since the ground fault is tripped and will not reset there is a chance that the line & load of the GFIC is reversed therefore once it is tripped it will not reset. If you have knowledge of Electricity when you pull the GFIC from the wall you need to test the wire going into it make sure the incoming power is feeding in on the line side the outlets down stream are on the load side.

50 Amp on Gen

The generator should have two circuit Breakers on the side one may be tripped not allowing the power to go out on both Hot legs. I have had a case where in the inverter circuit there was a quick coupling on the ac line at the inverter and it was not lock together good enough to make connection.
