AAHH, Front seats
We have the same seat peeling problem as many of us do. I was getting kind of tired of it. I've read a lot of your posts to see what you may have done. Some of you have been very successful at your fixes. After doing a couple big $ mods, I just didn't have another $1000 or so for seats.
We bought our 09 357QS used, so there was no warranty. Like some of you, I thought I would give Williamsburg Furniture a call. 574-773-7711, And I spoke to Karlie Fairfeild. She was very nice and has heard our problem many times. She told me they no longer use the material from the original build. I told her I wanted to buy new covers for the driver and passenger seats. I gave her the part number that I found attached under the seat.
Each cover was $125 with free shipping. A lot cheaper than any shop around our area. It included the arm rests and the lower skirt and head rest. Karlie said they would take about 15 days to make and she would email me when they shipped them out. And 14 days later, they were sitting on my porch.
Now keep in mind, I have NEVER done any upholstery work EVER. It was very easy. And I mean you have to be kidding me easy. If you can pull on a tight over the calf sock, or a girdle, you can do this. The armrests are like socks, and the back is like the girdle. The seat bottom just sets right on waiting for you to pull it tight.
I didn't mean to ramble on so much, but it just seems we all keep bringing up the same thing time after time. This was best $250 I've ever spent on our GT, and would do it again in a heart beat. Very satisfying, very worth the money, and very worth the time.
