Adding battery monitor, where to place shunt

I purchased a Victronic battery monitor and I am trying to figure out where to install the shunt. My concern is that there are some electronics on the shunt where the data cable connects, and the batteries on my Georgetown are exposed the road so moisture is a concern. Have any of you added one to your Georgetown and if so, what did you do about this?

The shunt has to be between battery negative and ALL load connections. The cable from negative to the shunt should be the only connection on the negative post. Shunts are typically passive devices with no "electronics" on them, your's may be different.

You could always get some type of a plastic junction box, put the shunt inside and seal the openings where the cables enter the box. If needed, purchase a negative cable to from batt negative to the shunt.
