Almost Ready

We're getting close. The reservations are made for Easter Vaction, Orlando, our first trip in the 374ts. Will be stopping overnight on the way down at New Green Acres, Walterboro, SC.

We decided to Purchase A 2011 Equinox for our Toad. I ordered and installed a Demco Baseplate. Also ordered the ReadyBreak Towbar and installed the cable to the break. Still need to intall the break sensor light in the cab, but plenty of time. Also need to pick up a drop reciver...looks like 8" will do.

Replaced the stock radio with a new Pioneer Head unit. Nav, dvd, bluetooth, pre-amp...Ipod and mp3 ready. Tied speakers into coach surround with a/b switch.

Heres a few pics.....Equinox, Baseplate and Brake cable, tow bar, old and new stereo. Note the silver disk on on the control panel. The toggle's were attatched with a threaded pin, glued on and not very secure. Ended up drilling through so the head could rest on the panel to hold toggle in place.

The factory stereo was a dim and a half....new double dim. Required patience and a few choice words to cut the opening larger.

Sorry......I don't understand? Why would I need a bigger Toad? Why would the brakes on the Equinox not be sufficient? Would this mean that all the people towing all smaller or similar vehicles are in the wrong? Some of the most popular TOAD's have similar or smaller brakes. The Equinox Brakes are 320mm front and 302 rear. Please explain. Personal prejudice?

The brakes on a Toad serve to assist the vehicle in stopping...not stop the vehicle and the Motorhome.

I think youroo was implying that you were going to pull your motor home with the Equinox.

We were close to buying a CRV. But, I'm a Big guy and I liked how much more room the Equinox had.

Most everyone gets picked on here some time or other, so be prepared. It just means you are 1 of the group now.

It wasn't me. I think the Captian had something to do with it? Hard to type with one leg up.
