Anyone using Shoreline reels ?

I was wondering if anyone here is using the 50 Amp electric Shoreline reel in theire Georgetown.

The stock 50 Amp cable is pretty stiff and not the easiest one to store neatly in the compartment.

If someone did installed this reel, did you had to reinforce the wall or floor structure ?

I converted our Anaconda into an extension. Get one each female and male connectors and cut the cord close to the converter. You can then unplug it from the basement, drop it through the portal and store the hose wherever you want. No more feeding the entire thing through the portal. Probably one of the best mods yet.

i wanted to have an extra 30' 50 amp cord....so i just do it that way....let's me put the surge protector in the storage compartment, too, so it's safe and dry.....

Summer time I use the coach cable - When it gets cold I leave the cable coiled up in the compartment and use the extension cord, I picked up at CW on sale along with a $10 email coupon. I feed it up through the bottom and plug the coach cable into it. The extension cord is way more flexible in cold temps then the coach cable. Wish FR would look at a better quality cord. My original cord was replaced under warranty when the plug molded end pushed off the cable leaving a 1/2 inch gap. I was told they had numerous problems with the cord ends seperating by the dealer. The replacement looked like it was made by a different vendor. It has stayed together, but it's still like trying to coil up a pool cuestick in that small compartment.

How do you hang it on the wall. The wall seems to pretty thin.

I've used an aluminum plate for re-enforcement, works like a charm

Hey Rudysworld! Did the hose real work for you? Did you have to cut the cable and make it like an extension cord? How long is your cable?

Gman55 I haven't tried the reel. The only time getting the shoreline back in the compartment is difficult is during cold weather and I have not convinced myself that the reel would help. I would be interested in others feedback, but don't want to hijack the thread.

All I can say is my reel works very easy even in cold wheather, 40 F last weekend and reeled like a charm!

If you just pull your cord down through the opening, stuff some 0000 steel wool around the cable and opening, mice hate it and wont enter your compartment.
