When you turn the Tank heaters on the switch should light up whether the heaters are operating off the in-line t-stat or not. The light is an indicator that power is on to the pads. Most likely the bulb is burned out. Mine lasted about 2 months. FR sent a replacement and it's been ok since. Be sure you replace it with the 12 volt switch and not the 120 volt switch. They look alike and both will operate the pads but the bulb will not light on the 120 volt switch. If you look very closely at the side of the switch it will read bulb 14 vdc or 120 volt. I replced mine with an amber colored switch so if I look across the room I know if the heating pads are on r the water pump is turned on. Just an example. You can find them cheaper on line, even ebay.
