I wish all vehicles had auto headlights!!
A friends CRV doesn't but it does have DRL's, we take turns on our morning commute. TWICE since Nov 1 I've had to remind him to turn ON his headlights... this is AFTER he's driven 7 miles to my house

I had a friend did the same with his car. I asked why at 9 o'clock he didn't have his lights on. He said they were automatic. I showed him the were DRL. OOOps!

But it would be nice if Ford just included it with the chassis
I am sure FORD would if FR would pay for it !!!
There a lot of things missing on the E450 MH that I am sure comes with a standard FORD van !!! I am surprised that our 2013 Sunseeker is the only FORD he own that has no computer chip in the key ???
Even my old 03 F150 has a chip in the key !!!

My daughter's 2010 Honda doesn't have automatic headlights(does have DRL) and she has a little post it note above her headlight switch to remind her to turn them off. All of vehicles for the past 10 yrs or more have had automatic headlights, and going back to a manual switch is tough to remember.

I think the car dealers should offer voice command vehicles.
CAR OFF will shut off engine, turn windshield wipers off, turn headlights off as well as the radio and will automatically lock the car. If you leave the keys in the ignition it will say "Stupid you left the keys in the ignition"

I am sorry to inform you, BUT this is what you get when you do not "order" the coach as all companies order the cheapest frame with "no" bells or whistles on it to keep the price down.
Now will I agree it does not take much you are correct, but even not a new switch just the light sensor, but to get this from the factory will up the price big time as it will only come with a upgraded package from ford!
SO sorry this is what we all get by buying from the lot!

I always believed that when you shout your car/truck down,,, you turned every thing off,,, so when you restarted only the starter drew juice from the battery,,, maybe that is from growing up in Northern Midwest ??? And no Garage !!!
But know with Remote Start,,, I have learned to leave the Heater On !!!
Remote Start is a Great thing here in the White Midwest !!!

In 2010, the newly elected mayor of Columbia, SC was involved in a car accident that nearly killed a well-loved hotel waitress. The ensuing investigation found that he didn't have his headlights on. I'm fairly confident that the hotel valet that parked the mayor's car earlier that evening turned the automatic headlights to the "off" position and the mayor failed to realize that they weren't on when he left the parking garage. I love my auto headlights in my car, but I always make it a point to ensure that they're in the auto position after somebody else, i.e., a valet, drives it...

I see people all the time driving at night with just their daytime lights.. When stopped they cannot even figure out how to manually use their lights or put them into automatic .. My we have gotten lazy.

Sounds to me that RVNut is saying is that having automatic lights, ones that come on with the windshield wipers, ones that turn off with a delay after you turn off the motor, ones that come on and turn off with the motor, is a desirable feature just like it is in cars. Why don't motorhome chassis manufacturers add this option to their chassis? It wouldn't cost that much to include it.
Thank you for getting my point.. Cheap option that should be offered

I always turn all my lights on every time I drive the MH, even though I have DRL (required in Canada).
Maybe we should get FR to spend a little more on better quality rather than things that Ford supplies.

I've had 2 MH and needed to have DRL. It was just a matter of upgrating or adjusting the intern settings with a laptop. It took the service teck just 15 minutes to program the DRL. I'ts an easy thing to do and both times, the dealership didn't charge me anything.

I am so Old that I can remember when we had (Parking Lights) this turned on Tailights as well and when needed for Driving, (Night/Dark/Dusk,Rain,Snow) you would turn on the (Headlights)! They even had (Fog Lights) for Fog! Now some (Goofball!) decides we need (DRL) these are Fancy LEDs around the Headlights, but they dont power the (Tailights)! Get OFF the Phones, take your Head out of your a-- and use your Headlights! Youroo!!
