Send a message via Yahoo to bob caldwell
I use dawn dish soap and a yard sprayer.....wet down the top side, roll'er up, let sit 15/30 minutes, open back up and rinse with a hose power nozzle......if not clean enough, then I use a bucket and a truck wash brush

Use this a few times a year for the past 3 years. Spray it on, let it sit for 5 minutes and then spray off.

I use the same process as Bob except I add some bleach to the dish soap.

Be very cautious about using bleach! Your awning may take on a different colour after you roll it back out!

I have used bleach cleaner on my old trailer...but it was white on bottom. The new one is black...so I don't know, but I am watching.
I used Wet and Forget...but I didn't notice much improvement. I think it relies on light and wind to work best.

Top Job works great. I have decals so I'm always careful on what I use to clean the awning and roof

I use L.A. Totally Awesome for really stubborn awning stains (you can get that stuff at Dollar General -- it's pretty great!) and an RV awning cleaning solution that I picked up at Camping World. I have a soft vehicle washing brush that has a handle and attaches to a hose that is perfect for scrubbing the awning. Letting the soap soak in a bit to loosen the dirt and grime for about 10 minutes before using the brush is a good idea, as you won't have to scrub the awning as hard. I try to clean the awning on a warm, sunny day so that there is plenty of time for it to dry. Putting it away wet is just asking for mildew stains.

Because I have a pop-up camper, I can actually carefully flip the awning upside-down on top of the camper roof and scrub the underside that way so that both sides are extra-clean.

Top of the awning is easy. Its the underneath part that you gotta watch what you use because invariably you will get some of the stuff on you! I use Super Clean by Castrol. Sold in the automotive section at Wal Mart. Works great.

Ohhh. One other thing. I used a swiffer to scrub with. It worked pretty good and made better coverage than a brush.
