Awning on Georgetown 378TS
We are new owners of a 2012 Georgetown 378TS last week we had a very heavy rain storm. The awning was not out. On Monday I went over to storage to show it to friends and put out the awning for the first time. It dumped a lot of water all over and the awning was wet. I have never had this happen with our fifth wheels is there something I should do different with the power awning?

It's the nature of the Power Awning beast. The metal cover it just that, a cover, but it doesn't keep water out. I open mine up at home after a rain just to dry it off so the chance of mold or mildew is reduced. Same thing during the winter after the snow melts.

On my way up from Florida to MA I had to stop for emergency repairs on my awning as it would not seat 100% in the closed position. The mechanic said the motor was burned out but was able to reseat it so I could get home
My question: how does georgetown - Forest River handle warranty repairs when you are 1,800 miles away from dealer? I'm stilling waiting to hear back from salesman at Lazy Days about getting it fixed and getting reimbursed for the emergency repair

Most Forest River dealers will do warranty work, If you bought it from Lazy Days rather than calling them call FR for a dealer near you and they can get approval from FR. We had a couple of issues with our 2011 374 and had no problem getting the work done when we were in Florida this past winter -- we are from Canada. FR in most cases will reimburse you for emergency repairs to the coach.

This is odd. My 360 with the same awning just sat through a full day of heavy rain and the awning is dry...!!!!! go figure.
