Backup monitor shows everything backwards

Fellow Campers.
The monitor on my backup camera shows everything backwards. What is on the passenger side rear of my rv shows on the driver side of the monitor and Vise Versa. Quite confusing and almost impossible to use.

The dealership I bought it from, in all their infinite wisdom, said that was normal. I called BS, but as this is the first backup camera I owned, let it go. With investigation, and viewing other backup cameras, my initial thought of BS was right.

Have any of you seen this phenomenon, and if so, how would you suggest fixing it. My coach is a 2005, 375 XL. Thanks for any and all your help.

Ron

"Normal" TV shows the left side of the camera view on the left side of the monitor, but you're right, it's very confusing when the monitor image doesn't look like it would in a mirror.

Most systems have a switch (in the camera or in the monitor) to switch to "MIrror Image". In some very modern digital systems, there's a menu item to do the switch. I'd suggest looking on line for your system manufacturer's web-site if you don't have a user guide for it in the documentation you got with the MH.

Thanks, didn't know that. I will check online, and then see if there is a menu on screen.

Just figured it out

I just removed the dash that held my back up monitor, lo and behold, there is a switch on the back that reads nor/mir. Simple as that. If anyone else has this problem, go to the back of the monitor. Took 2 minutes, rather than a few hours searching the net with no success.

Here is the manual for the Voyager VOM-78 monitor system that is in my 2008 Georgetown. I think that it's probably the same unit in yours.
