Basement fridge

Anyone put a small fridge in the basement to the right side of door on a 378xl thinking about one to keep my outside cooking stuff really gets tiring up and down steps

Though we full time and stay in one spot for three or four months we have a fridge we got at Wally World for about $99 and placed outside under a portable table that is used exclusively for the most important part of a late afternoon...BEER. We put it in the back of the Jeep when we travel to the next spot.

If you buy a small fridge make sure it has a compressor.

Not sure what everyone else finds, but the compartments around the step get very hot while driving. I tried putting a cooler of ice in the one forward of the steps, and I lost a lot of ice before I arrived at the destination.

I like the idea of storing the fridge in the toad and setting it up once you're at the site. I use. I use a portable ice maker that way now.

I use one just behind the door, it a compressor model and it works fine. It can't be very big is the only issue.

Don't know brand but it came from Walmart and it was not expensive. I put a fan in the bottom opening and I run it when I am stopped for more than a day. When moving I put the cap on to keep dirt out.

Camper1999, I see why you don't have the heat consideration I was referring to. In your picture it shows a trailer rather than the class A style. In mine, the basements by the door are near the engine and tranny, and they get really hot. I guess it would only be a problem if the the fridge were to be used during the trip instead of just at the camp site. I'm really interested to hear how it turns out.

I have a 1.7 c.f. in my 5er basement. It does just fine to keep the sodas cold. I just leave it plugged in and open up a basement door when we're parked to keep it from working to hard.

Coachmen's 319DS class c has the option for the outdoor kitchen and a frig in the rear compartment. Might be worth looking into to see how they do it.
