Batteries

Someone told me I should be replenishing the batteries with battery acid instead of water? Anyone else ever hear that? Also, how often should I be checking the water in my batteries on a 2 week cramping trip staying in one spot and hooked to shore power?

You should never add acid... only distilled water.

I check mine once every 6 months.
Haven't had to add water but once in a year and a half.
I keep my coach hooked up to shoe power 24/7.

Sulfuric acid does not evaporate in a battery, only the water does and leaves a concentrated sulfuric acid behind. That is why you add distilled water only and never more acid.

I know it's been said MANY times, but NEVER add acid to a battery, only distilled water.
