I use mine anytime the camper is sitting not plugged in. We generally plug it in once we return home and leave it plugged in until we have cleaned it. Then the slide gets pulled in, power cord put away and disconnect turned off until we are ready to go back out next. If it's a short turnaround I just leave it plugged in and don't bother with the switch.
I leave my switch on all the time. When in storage in my pole barn the unit is plugged in and this keeps the batteries fully charged. Since they are maintenance free batteries, they are fine. I have always done this, even with three prior 5th wheels and have never had a battery issue.

When its parked (stored) for more than a few days and its not plugged in.
I have a 4 stage converter so it doesn't boil the battery when I do plug in.
I also installed disconnects on the coach and chassis batteries. (Mine doesn't come equipped with disconnect solenoids) Same with the TOAD that sits in the barn when not in use.
You can pick up these disconnects for 5-6 bucks each. Mount them on the Negative Terminal.

It won't do MACH 2, but I can get a sandwich and take a pee.
