Best fuel additive when stored
What do you think is the best additive to put in your RV gas tank when its being stored for the winter? Most years instead of adding anything I try to drive awhile, use up 10 gallons or so and add fresh fuel. This has worked ok for 6 or 7 years that I have owned a class A. But would like to know what other folks here are using and would recommend.

I added Sea Foam to my tank and then ran the engine as well as the generator before storing. Each time I go to where the RV is stored, I take about 5 gallons of fresh fuel with Sea Foam to put in the tank, start the engine and also run the generator for about 15-30 minutes with a load - usually a heater. Tank wasn't full when I took it for storage, so, a few trips will fill it.
From the Sea Foam website - "Sea Foam stabilizes fuel by resisting evaporation, gum and varnish formation". Of course, use as directed.

sta-bil use it in all my small engines and cars that I have in storage. one pull on most small engines. cars start up and run like the day I parked them after one year of storage. also use the diesel sta-bil in my trucks to keep the fuel stable.
Hope This Helps Tim

I'm using the Onan fuel stabilizer that Onan recommends. I add it to the chassis tank (obviously) and run the generator to also get it into that carb. During the winters, once/month, I run the generator as well as the chassis engine to keep things in shape.

Power Service: Diesel Additives. There is a downloadable PDF sheet that provides you with information on what product you need to use. The one that I recommend would be "Bio Klean Diesel Fuel Biocide" for long term storage. If you are using diesel fuel for your Class A.
See attached link: Power Service

Star Tron
I used to use Stabil but now use Star Tron. It was recommended by a trusted friend in Oregon who uses it in boat outboards that are stored over winter months. It supposedly last up to 2 years he says. I don't know but I trust him and so now I use it and have no complaints.

I've using stabil for years on boats, rvs, lawn mowers, trimmers.... Everything starts righ up after storage. Once snow blower was seating for two years with Stabil, it started with two pulls. I also make sure the tanks are topped off.

On my chainsaws and small engines I try to use recreation fuel (no ethanol) when it is convenient. Probably too expensive to fill the MH tank with it though as it is 30 to 40 cents more than regular gas. So I add sta-bil marine/storage when topping the tank for storage. The sta-bil marine/storage neutralizes the ethanol and prevents varnish. Been working good for years on my portable generators, showblower, lawnmowers, MH, etc..
I have rebuilt a lot of carbs (not mine) that have been left for extended times with efuels in them.

I have always used marine Stabil or Startron in my boat outboard engines and lawn mowers when storing for several months with no problems.

Lots of 'magical elixers' out there. I'm all about Stabil as well. The Marine stuff, not the stinking red crap.
Seafoam is Stoddard Solvent and nit much else. Good for a carb cleaning if you have a carb that is.

I use Stabil in the boat. 80 gallons sits from October till April. I run it for a while to make sure it gets pulled through the lines and filters before shutting it down for the winter.

One thing to always keep in mind (no matter what fuel stabilization product you use) is..
When laying up any motor driven vehicle or boat for the winter or for any length of time, like snowmobiles in the summer, always make sure the fuel tank is full to the top because the air above the fuel in the tank promotes fuel degradation.
