Black Tanks While Stored

We're headed home after an amazing adventure in our 2016 364TS. We have 2 baths. Can you share some black tank advice. I thought upon arrival we would flush and back flush the tanks. Do we keep one water flush and chemicals while it's stored inside? What do you recommend? Any advice to keeping things smelling all Rosie while it waits tell the next big adventure is appreciated.

Geo method or store bought chem with 5 gal water will "Smell Better" than a "Dry Black Tank"! Youroo!!

If its subject to freezing conditions you definitely want to add rv antifreeze to the tank, about a gallon.

If not I would do as suggested above.

Blank Tanks

We're not storing the rig for the winter yet but we keep the Georgetown in an enclosed storage garage. I want to know what to do with the black tank until the next adventure.

I usually flush mine, then add about 45-60 seconds (about 1-1.5 gal) of water while the hose is still hooked to the flush inlet. Then I add one tablet of the Toss In's and it is good to go till the next trip.

This also keeps you from having to remember to add water when you head out the next time.

Do a forum search on geo method and you'll read more than you ever cared to about black tank cleaning and storage. But yes, you should clean, drain, and refill with some water and RV toilet chemical/geo method chemicals when stored.

I drain mine completely empty. Back flush it. Don't add anything and store it all winter empty. Never had a problem with odor. Sometimes we make things to complicated!!
