black water flush

I have the 2011 Georgetown 360 and am little ticked-off that when you use the black water flush system and then start to disconnect the water hose, there is a large amoun of water gushing back out of the fitting, course soaking anything in either of the cubbies. Anyone else have this problem or know of a fix, or is this something else you have to live with?

The water coming out of the Turboflush is "trapped water" under pressure between the interior "anti-siphon" valve and the hose connector.
It is NOT black water.

The only way to prevent it is to attach a short hose extension (that clears the compartment) and attach your flush hose to that. Disconnect at that junction and the trapped water will run on the ground; not in the compartment. I also recommend an in-line shutoff valve at the junction as I turn the water on and off there several times while flushing. "Bursting" the water seems to help loosen any goop that has resisted steady water spray.

I'll disconnect the hose at the faucet first. Assuming it is downhill from the black water flush, the hose will drain back onto the ground. As herk said, it isn't black water, just excess fresh.

That's the way I do it as well. I have a hose designated for this use only. I don't store it with the fresh water hose even though it only uses fresh water. Just don't want the fresh water hoses picking up any bad habits

Black water flush

Thanks to all who replied and the detailed response from Herk7769. I realized that it was not black water, but it was the inconvenience all the water pouring out. I will go with the short hose. Thanks again for the response.

HERK7769, what years in RVN

I was high school 67-68, but joined in Sept 72. By the time I was checked out in the C-130 after flight school my unit had redeployed back to the states. My first action (where I actually came under fire) was Desert Storm. Retired in 2005 after 33 years flying the Herk.

Joined uncle surgar's canoe club in '69. Did the major part of my flying in P3 Orions. Our motors were right side up! Not upside down, like a 130! Sorry...had to chime in, keep things interesting.
