The only reason a check engine light will come on, in the first place is for emissions.

Like another poster said.
Flashing is cat damage. Bad.

Looks like it was a bad battery causing my P300 code. The battery was dead when I first test drove the coach and they jump started it. When I picked up the unit it started fine and seemed to be ok. My ford dealer put it on a test stand and found two bad cells and looks like the battery froze at one time while sitting on the dealer lot because the case was bowed out on both ends. Ford put me a brand new battery in under warranty. I had seen a YouTube video that said that a bad battery could cause a P300 random misfire code and looks like they were correct. Probably explains why The light would only flash when going down hill with foot off the gas. The minuet I put my foot back on the gas the engine Rpm would get the alternator putting out enough voltage to eliminate the flashing light and stop the missfire code. I keep the unit plugged in at home so the converter was keeping the chassis battery charged enough to start so I did not no that the battery would not keep a charge. I should have insisted on a new battery when I did my PDI since I knew that it had Benn allowed to totally discharge at one time.
