Blisters again

A few years ago, there was a lot of talk on the Forum about blistering hydraulic hoses. Mine blistered, and were replaced on my 2 1/2-year-old Georgetown with new orange hoses in July of 2013, which Forest River insisted were better than the original. Now, 2 1/2 years later, the "new" hoses are blistering again.

Anyone know who is in charge of Forest River warranty service now? My email to Steve Stombaugh was rejected.

I hope you have better luck getting help from Mr Byrd than I did. I contacted him about the ugly peeling of the wood wafer board under the two large slides on the 378 and he at first wanted to do nothing for me because I was six months out of my one year warranty. Only after threatening to contact motorhome magazine action line for assistance he quickly offered to send the metal plates to solve the issue. The plates are working great and have solved the problem but my experience getting help from him was not a pleasant one. I've heard other owners report great responses from forest river on several other issues so I don't think this guy is a good representation of forest River as a whole.

Should my already replaced orange hoses fail again I'd have a local hydraulic shop replace them all with NYS DOT Certified hoses made I believe by Gates. When I bought my rig used Lippert would only authorize the dealer to replace some of the lines. The dealer, to their credit called in a mobile outfit to come in and replace the other not covered lines.

I may wind up doing that. I sent some pictures to FR last week (Kevin Stratton), but haven't heard back yet. The initial reply did leave the door open that they might pay at least in part.
