Sometimes I've been able to restart the toad, sometimes not.

I've driven nearly two days without starting the toad and with no battery feed from the coach.

Unless you are drawing power from the MH I would suggest 60 to 100 bucks for the 12v battery pack. I used for about a 6 hour drive for brake and lights and used less than 1/4 of the charge.

I'm sure vehicles vary on how long they supply 12v power. I got the low battery warning maybe 1.5 hours after I left so assume truck 12v doesn't stay on more than hour.

I towed in mostly flat areas with minor hills....brake is definetly not necessary...worked just fine with extra engine braking.

I went with a used Alpha bar and new Blue Ox Autostop for the Jeep. Since I have a Heavy duty bumper on Jeep I was able to add brackets directly to it and at $70, was a steal. Added a Drawtite wiring kit $53 that uses existing tail lights, but coach battery. All in I'm about $700. I put a disconnect on my Jeep battery because I must leave the key in the "acc" position so the steering wheel won't lock. Towed about 5k miles this last trip through the Rockies without a problem.
