Its an actual orange hose.
And there junk!
I've used this hose before on hydraulics and they never last!
the nonsense of poping the blistering hose is just stupid.
There's a reason that its blistering. THE HOSE IS JUNK!

Your welcome. I make hydraulic hoses and hydraulics are nothing to mess around with.
Heat is a problem with ORANGE hose! Also its not wire reinforced.
A good quality gates or weather head hose with at least 2 wire reinforcement would be an excellent replacement. These can be custom made at most Napa auto parts or carquest.
Good luck

Either the orange hose is a misapplication, ie air hose used for hydraulic, or the hydraulic fluid is a misapplication, ie a glycol ether brake fluid used instead of a mineral oil. Either way the orange hose is dissolving and likely contaminating the hydraulic pump, valve seals and piston seal with debris. As Forest River replaces the hose, do they have a recommended clean up procedure for the rest of the equipment.?????
I looked this morning under my 2011 and the orange lines are all buldged and leaking.

"Orange" hose has a hydraulic spec. But I'm not sure in this application that its the right spec'ed hose for the application or in fact its low grade over seas made Crap.
there are many factors in spec'ing the correct hose for the job.
including but not limited to .........
heat
Working pressure
fluid type
sustainable pressure
Sustainable heat
bend radius

Not real sure about if the orange hoses are within spec, made overseas or what but just got our rig back from the dealership service department. All the orange hoses had blisters and each orange hose had hyd fluid (ATF) in the blisters. Forest River made it right with no arguments.

I never would have looked at the hoses if I didn't read this forum everyday.

Greetings
We're sitting in Lazydays tampa, had some minor adj. to our 2012 378 an hoses checked,we have both orange an black, with no problems a,t 9 mos. old, tech has inspected an as he says depends on manufacture of hoses an FR uses many, so that tells me not all orange hoses will be bad. will keep updating.
we were treated very well here,an tech took the time to explain his repairs,an helpful suggestions to understanding our coach better, that means alot to us

I have a 2011 378TS and several of the orange hoses are blistered and one is leaking. About half of the hoses are orange and the other half are black. Back to the dealer again!!

Talked to the dealer today, made an appointment for next week. He is going to try and get FR to authorize replacing them with hoses made locally for the dealer. If so, they will be better quality than the OM.

Dealer said FR refuses to authorize local replacement hoses and insists on sending replacement (orange) hoses from factory. Just hope we get them all replaced before warranty expires in Feb 2012.

My brother just bought a used 373 with bulging orange hoses. I had told him about the bulging hoses because of this thread. He hasn't actually "received" the unit from the dealer (yet), but the dealer is replacing his hoses.
He should pick it up this weekend.

My dealer and FR have talked, and they are replacing all of the orange lines (8) with new orange lines. According to FR these are higher quality lines and should not experience the blistering problemss the old ones did. We shall see.

Forrest

We have a 2010 379 that is out of warranty. I just checked and we too have blistered orange hose throughout the coach. I will contact FR but I am not hopeful that they will warranty. Just curious, has anyone gotten an estimate of total cost to replace the 8 orange hoses?

Thanks for the help and for the information in this thread. This is a great forum!!!

I just had suspension air bags installed yesterday on my 2011 378ts and installer noticed the blistering on my orange hoses. My unit is under warranty but the garage told me it's an $1,100 job to replace all the orange hoses if you have to pay for it.
