Caulking trouble?

Well decided to redo the caulking on the Georgetown.. So brought a few tubes of geocel Rv caulking.. On some places I removed the old caulking and redid...on others I just put a slight bead over the old... Well today I noticed that the Geocel caulking didn't adhere on the old caulking in some areas... Specifically around the side view mirrors... ( it has a dark brown caulking which I couldn't fined anywhere ..so I put a small bead of clear over the old).. Is there a compatibility issue... I read that silicone caulking is incompatible with just about everything..Is this correct?? Did Forest River use silicone caulking??

Also any idea where I can get the dark brown caulking I need for the Mirrors? I have left 5 messages to the forest river parts department over the last few weeks regarding seals and caulking and not one call back... So I'm hoping you guys can help me out..

Thanks in advance for the help ...
