Center console completed

Finally I finished my center console, the finish is perfect and it match 100% my cabinets.

Added a monitor, ScanGauge II , dual USB chargers, clock... And most importantly it is now tilted towards the driver and you can see and control a lot better. Excuse the bad pictures.. will post good quality one once installed

Looks fantastic!! I've been wanting to do the exact same thing but want to figure out what all I want to add first.

Can you share any of the build details? Type of wood, stain colors, etc? I've gotten close to the factory color but always looking to be better.

Nice work!

Tom

That's WOW!
Beautiful wood work.
Would like to see the back how you mounted the new console to the existing plastic.

Thanks guys. I have made it from 3/4" Russian birch wood plank. Lots of funky angles but I first did several mockups pieces in cardboard.

My biggest challenge was finding an easy way to attach it to the existing console on the RV. Having this spare plastic one helped me a lot. Also, I didn't want to cut the original one in the event I decide to sell the RV and the future owner doesn't like it. This way, I would be able to revert to the original one.

So I use 2 pipe holders on one side and 2 metal plates on the other side. These plates are found inside cabinet with magnetic latch. Found them at demo depot.

All I can say is this is very solid and will not move . I might put a piece of double sided 3M tape on top but I'm not sure on that one yet.

Thanks again for your comments.

Thanks for sharing the details, it looks great. I'm currently working on a dash mounted desk for our 351DS, but I hope to do this project next!

That is beautiful! Cant imagine if you decided to sell that a future owner wouldn't want that.

Johnnya,

That looks awesome. Great job. That is how FR should have done it originally. The OEM one you cannot see from the Drivers seat. You should sell them. I may have to take a crack at this myself. Thanks again for posting the details.
