Ceramic toilet in Georgetown?

Has anyone upgraded their factory toilet (usually a plastic Thetford) with an upgrade to a ceramic toilet? (Thetford or Dometic)

Any tricks or problems upgrading?

Thanks

I upgraded ours last summer from the crappy (pun intended) Thetford plastic one to the ceramic Dometic model 310. Piece of cake to change it out. Maybe 40 minutes tops.

Its a very easy upgrade in most rigs and well within the DIY projects range.

Changed ours to the Dimetic 310 as well.
Easy install and no modifications needed.
Make sure you get the wooden seat to go with it. Well worth the extra $30

If you have the room just go with the full up like at home toilet. 18' height, plus you can use any toilet seat you like. I did it in our Silverback, love it. Check out the 320 series..

The Dometic Web site says the 320 is "100% vitreous". Now if that don't beat all. I've been past the 8th grade and have the certificate to prove it. But, I never heard of a "vitreous" toilet. Are you sure it's safe to sit on?

Porcelain Toilet

Clay vitrifies at high temperature to become glass or porcelain. So vitreous means the same thing.

The only difference between the Dometic 310 and 320....the 320 is elongated shape versus 310 round.

From dimensions I see for both models, looks like I can't install the 320....not enough clearance from back wall in our motorhome.

Looks like another mod when the weather warms up.

Thanks all.

Happier? We are now into quantifying excretory functions based on a receptacle. This country is some serious TROUBLE!

Every toilet in Every house you have ever lived in, that had a toilet indoors, was made of Vitreous China. If none of them collapsed under your weight, neither will the one in your camper.

I must be wrong in my assumption that all Georgetown MH's have China toilet bowls, our does. Glad we don't have to get into a changeout.
