Changed batteries - Digital display for speedometer not displaying
Have a 2017 Georgetown 329 DS. Changed out the house batteries and when finished, found that the digital display for the speedometer is dark with no digital readout showing. All the instrument panel is lit and functioning properly including the needled speedometer, trip odometers and tach. Just the digital display is lacking. Checked the fuses and found all are good and all other 12v functions are OK in the coach. Wondering if the digital display needs to somehow be reset. I ran thru the menu choices in the information center but saw no choice for resetting. Any thoughts on getting the digital readout back? Also checked the display dimmer and ensured it was turned up all the way. Thanks for any help/suggestions you can send my way.

I’m guessing you mean the digital display for the ODOMETER is not working.

Its the display where the idiot lights show up and the speed is normally displayed as a digital number.

I am guessing that is a mutifuntion display and the default is off, just need to figure out how to go through the options to find what you want.

I’m watching this thread to see another Georgetown owner, one with a newer instrument panel than mine, to come back and comment on your problem.
I wasn’t aware of there being a digital speedometer in addition to the analogue speedometer.
Only another 2017 or newer Georgetown owner will know.

After giving this more thought I do believe my original post was in error. I believe the odometer is not showing on the display. I’ve only taken a couple of trips with this coach and couldn’t remember what was on the display. Sorry for the confusion. Still haven’t been able to correct the problem. I’m going to remove all the negatives on the battery and reconnect to try to bring back the odometer. Any other ideas out there. Thanks

If you want to reset the chassis computer notice there are 2 cables connected to the positive terminal of the chassis battery. One of those cables is for the chassis feed but the other one is from the coach battery control center (BCC) typically the one on the side of the battery terminal. Disconnect the coach BCC feed and isolate from touching ground (metal). Next disconnect the chassis feed terminal from the battery for about 30 seconds then reconnect to battery. Reconnect the coach BCC feed. The chassis computer should now be reset.

Thank you for the response Bubbles....couple questions: 1) Is it necessary that I disconnect the negative posts first before removing the two positive connections? 2) I believe I have a bundle of three positive feeds going to a positive post on the battery bank....since I don't know which one is the right feed for the chassis (RV in storage now and won't be going back over to it until tomorrow to verify this) I guess it won't hurt to disconnect all three of the feeds and reconnect per your instructions. Hope this works and I'll get back to you with the results as soon as I can. Thanks again.

No you don't have to disconnect the negative chassis battery post first. The idea is to get the positive input to the computer disconnected. If you don't disconnect the other positive leads from the chassis battery positive cable the input to the computer will not be removed (in fact you could possibly even start the engine with the cable removed from the battery without disconnecting the other cables from the chassis main feed cable without using the emergency start). Be sure and not let the positive cables removed from the chassis positive cable touch ground and just hold the chassis main cable in your hand disconnected for about 30 seconds before reconnecting all the positive chassis battery cables. Hope this does the trick for you. This procedure is the one I use to reset my chassis computer in my GT378 when I may get an engine alert (loose gas cap etc.) or ABS light where there is no malfunction. Remember, this all takes place at the single chassis battery under the hood not at the coach batteries. Be sure and check before doing this that you still have the issue. It may have corrected itself.

I also frequently have ABS warning errors. You shouldn't have to disconnect the battery to reset them though. If you shut off the engine then restart it, the ABS system should reset itself after driving a short distance, usually less than 100 feet. If it doesn't, then I'd suspect a failing wheel sensor as the first place to look.
Unfortunately, on my 2011 Georgetown, a Ford dealership traced the problem to a bad ABS controller which, since Ford no longer makes this particular controller, isn't available any more. I can, however, avoid the ABS warning light by keeping the rig's speed below 68mph.

it's not frequently. Only occasionally if I venture onto the warning strips on drivers side on an interstate. I reset to make sure there isn't a real problem (re-illuminating) with the ABS. It doesn't seem to reset as you say.
