08 George, have always used propane for hot water. Tried electric recently, flipped outside switch and no hot water. Shore power is 30 amp.
I know where the element is, is it easy to take out?
Before you go to the trouble of taking the element out, maybe do a continuity check on it first. The problem may be elsewhere. If you haven't been using the element, it shouldn't be burnt out.
1) Check the circuit breakers in the power center
2) Check the GFCI buttons on all outlets that have them
3) Check for voltage at the element under the round black cover.

usually
not to hard to get out
although corrosion sure don't help
depending on the type of waters used
have seen many of these elements not last that long
had an elect on the rental up here years ago
we are on well water
had to replace them prox every 2 years
((much crud built up on element))

If you need to replace it, HD or Lowes have the 120 Volt small elements for under $10. Way cheaper than the RV Dealers. They have the wrench as well to make it easy to remove.
