Charge Wire always Hot

I just discovered that my charge wire on the 7 wire hitch wiring is always hot whether the key is on or not. My other MoHos it was only hot when the key was on.
I realize this could be a cause of killing the starting battery on the MH.

I'm not sure why I'm asking this unless I have to take it in for repairs for something else. Do you guys think this is a Ford thing or Forest River?

Discharge could happen only if there is something connected to the 7 pin receptacle using that pin when chassis battery is not being charged from either, shore power/generator/engine running.

Bubbles is correct. Unless you wired your toad with that wire nothing should happen.
I have mine hooked up to charge my car battery but I have a special monitor and charger added to my battery that stops from the toad battery from over charging.

So if you do not have the hot wire attached to your battery don't worry about it and it will NOT discharge your coach batteries.

If you want to use it you should have something like this added to your toad battery.

I have one from RVIBrake3 which report back to my tablet inside the motorhome.
