Cheap Handling Fix- Side Wall Failure

I was wondering how many people with side wall bolt failure have done cheap handling fix? I am not saying that the CHF is the reason for failure just maybe. My MH was fine until I did CHF. Miles before fix 14,000. Miles after fix 2,000.

Look at it this way before the CHF your camper flexed more than it does now so the screws were already on there way out.

We're just the opposite
2K before CHF
14K after CHF
No sidewall trouble

We drive 50 miles per yr X 4 on a washboard gravel road, last yr the fastest we could drive was 15mph, this yr a little better...25 mph, vibrates SO BAD stuff falls, rattles, bangs etc.

We did the CHF back in 2012 on our 378TS and now have over 42,000 miles and no side wall issues here.

Did CHF on our 2015 364TS. Within the first hour it began a loud clunk when I turned in either direction. Big rig alignment shop said this wasn't the first GT he'd seen with the same problem. Sway bar was hitting frame in turns. When we put the linkage bolt back in the forward position, the problem was solved.

X2. Have 47,000 miles on ours, can't keep up with the number of days camped.

What is Side Wall Failure. I get the CHF which I plan on doing when I get our 328tsf out of winter storage. I'm all about preventive maintenance and leaning on the side of caution.

Thanks...

WOW! Amazing the flex is causing that kind of damage! So what you're saying is if we do the CHF, it minimizes the probability of "Side Wall Failure" or does it eliminate this from happening.

Second question - By doing the CHF, are there any concerns with the suspension? I currently have a noise in my suspension or steering when pulling into a gas station at very slow speed turning wheel left. I get a thumping noise and it feels like the steering wheel shifts.

I only have 2600 miles on our coach.

Thanks for the information...

Sidewall failure also on older Mirada (not sure about new ones)

The failure is similar to that of the Georgetown. The entire front sidewall literally breaks away from the frame as the screws that secure the sidewall to the floor fall out.

The inspection and repair on the Mirada is a lot easier to do than the Georgetown

It won't do MACH 2, but I can get a sandwich and take a pee.
