Checking tire pressure

Looking for a fix to check air pressure on outside rear dual. Can’t get the gauge between the duals and no way to air up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Do you have the gauge with the angled head?

Do you have a gauge like this one? (below)
It is what most truckers use. (and a lot of other folks too!)
The second one is an inflater/gauge.

Do you have a picture of what you are talking about? Sometimes the valve stems of the inner dual can be a bear if there's no extension or the supplied extension isn't properly installed, as was a case I had.

I thought all GT's came with valve extensions on all rear duals. Might want to check with dealer.

I added solid extensions to mine. Otherwise the angle of the stem took it too close to the rim and it was difficult to get the gauge or air chuck on mine.

07 35’ George Town, with two sides.
22.5 tires max. Air is 110 lb’s.
How much should I run in rear tires.

The only way to know how much air pressure to put in your tires is to weigh each axle fully loaded then compare that info to the tire manufacturers air pressure chart. You should also weigh each tire. (Front right, front left, rear right, rear left to also know if you are properly balanced)
I have a 2013 378XL on a 24,000lb chassis and I run 3 lb more air pressure than the chart recommends. Front tires are at 83 PSI and rear tires are 87 PSI. My axles are: Front axle weight 7300# and rear axle 15,500#.
My dealer put 105PSI in them when I bought it and it rode very hard.

There's a sticker behind the driver on newer ones that lists the weight as built and the recommended tire pressure. Hopefully you have it or it's somewhere else.

If you've never had it weighed, it's fairly easy to use a CAT scale at truck stops. While that will not get you the weight on each tire, just each axle, you can compare that weight to the sticker and see how difference there is. You should be loaded up with full fuel, supplies, bodies and however much fresh water you usually carry.

Split the difference on each axle and add 5% because of left-right imbalances and that should get you pretty close.

Mine with a 22,000 lb. chassis has a sticker of 90 lbs on all tires so I bump them up to 95 lbs. for a slight margin and to give the TPMS more room to react to a leak. The tires are 110 max as well.

FWIW,

Ray

Mine is the same way. I had to take the wheel cover off to check the air pressure. I installed the flow through tire pressure monitor system and that essentially acts as a valve stem extender.
