No it will not work, you need the 4 wire to keep the propane shut off solenoid energized near the propane tank.

The two wire is an alarm only and will not operate the propane relay. If you are going to keep the propane relay ( recommended) you will need the 4 wire version).

It's not CO2... it's CO. Maybe you're searching for CO2.

MTI will not sell the 4 wire without the new solenoid valve. Don't ask me why because it doesn't go bad . I'm on my third CO detector and have 2 sol valves in the garage.

I just replaced mine yesterday. Bought it at Camping World for 154.00 less instant 10.00 coupon. (The white model was 250.00). It is the four wire version. I am selling the solenoid on eBay for 30 bucks. I received it in 3 days shipping time. 3 wires were in the wall and the detector had 4 wire but the installation manual showed how to hook it up.

trace the propane line and figure out where the solenoid is, then pull it out and connect the line without the solenoid, then get 2 wire system...

or get a mobile RV tech to come out to help you

Are you saying you don't have a solenoid?
It should be located just a foot away from the propane tank output line. If your old detector had 3 wires in the wall I would assume you have the valve, somewhere.
If you do not have a solenoid valve, then the things to check would be: propane thank valve open, regulator maybe bad or stuck, see if the propane water heater is working and bleed the propane lines. Listen for a hissing sound when stove top burner is turned on.

Yes I have the solenoid, my 4 wire co,propane alarm is bad, have 3 wires in wall. Fr said they don't use the 4 wire or solenoid anymore. So I have to remove it and use a 2 wire.

I would buy one from Campingworld.com. Like I mentioned they will ship to you in 3 days. 144.00 for the brown unit.

I would assume that you need to replace a 4 wire unit with a 4 wire unit. If you replace it with a 2 wire unit the propane may not flow. If you want to use a 2 wire unit you will need to send 12 volts to the valve to make it open but you defeat the safety feature of the valve.
Your coach may have been produced before the wiring change, hence Forest River may be mistaken.
