Day 3 of 16 - Heading to DC
So, things have been going fairly well thus far. Left WI on Monday and hit Columbus, OH that day. It started out sort of rocky. We went shopping the night before leaving. Fired up the residential fridge and ran it off the house batteries while we went shopping. Came back and everything was cooled down. Got the rest of the coach packed up and ready to depart for Monday morning. I had to pull it up on our street. Somewhere between loading the fridge and the Monday departure, the fridge stopped running! I'm not sure if the batteries ran out however I've run it overnight before. So, not too sure. The food stayed cold so all we well. *whew* Bullet dodged! (DW dodged as well since she would of shot me if $300 worth of food had to be thrown away!)
Stayed over for a day to see some local friends but heading out this morning to hit Washington, D.C. today. From a Georgetown perspective, all seems to be well. I installed an on/off value on the shower which makes the shower much nicer! I also bought a Keurig mini so mornings are much more approachable as well. :-) I've noticed a TON of loose screws on the drawer hardware. The locking clasps all move and rails are loose. Most of the screws seem stripped so snugging stuff down is not an option. I'll have to get some silicon when I get home and tighten everything up.
Our side door is REALLY screwed up as well. When on tires, it closes well enough (however there's a gap on the bottom where I can see daylight!) but whenever deploying stabilizers, the door becomes almost unbearable to close. I've tried the nice approach by opening the clasp and pulling it closed, to slamming it. I think the bottom line is that the door is just whacked. That will have to be a warranty item I guess.
Everything else has been fairly predictable. We stayed at Cross Creek in Delaware, OH. It was a nice enough campground. Clean, has FAST Wi-Fi, a pool and park for the kids. I'd stay here again if we ever swung out this way.
We're now headed off to Cherry Hill Park in DC (actually, it's in MD). I'll post my thoughts from that park and then, of course, if all goes right, I will have the new Garmin RV delivered to me on Friday. Be well all!
