Daytime dash illumination

We have a Georgetown 378TS. With the huge front window there is a lot of light coming in while driving during the day. The light colored ceiling and other things cause a lot of glare on the dash and that much light usually means wearing sun glasses.

When the lights are on at night there is a control for changing the intensity of the dash lights so we can read things like the trip odometer. During the day the dash lights are so low that you can’t read the dash unless you are passing through a very shaded stretch of road.

We have the 26,000 lb Ford chassis with their V10 gas engine. Does anyone know if there is any way to adjust the intensity of the dash lights when the headlights are off?

I have the same problem with my 378. Hopefully someone has a solution. I don't!

Even though your daytime headlights are on the dash does not get power till you turn the headlights on for night driving.

Maybe I wasn’t clear enough! I’m not talking about the lights around the dash that let you see the speed and RPM dials at night, I’m talking about the digital display for miles to empty, trip mileage, etc.

Just an update. I had cataract surgery a year ago to replace the lens in each eye. Went to the eye doctor yesterday and was told that a very normal film, basically a cataract has formed behind the new lenses. It is very normal and only takes a minor laser treatment to fix the issue. I will report back in a few weeks after the treatments are done to give you the results. I also bought polarized sun glasses and will report on them after our next trip.

Hope the answer to my original post is not to tell people to have their head examined! LOL
