We use the hose that came with the Dirt Devil Vacuum Cleaner so wherever you mount it the hose will still be the same length. As ours is installed under the bed it will still, almost, pick up a bowling ball.

Just an update, I ended up installing the vacuum motor in the bay with the gfi outlet. I ran the hose through the top of the bay next to it and put the outlet in the stairwell. I took a couple of pics. I'm happy with the result and most importantly so is my wife. Thanks for the input. And now on to the next mod.......

328TS place for a vac

After looking over my coach and taking some photos, I think I have a solution on where to mount the thing.
Use an Intervac RV vac that sits sideways.
Put it under the sink, on the floor by the fridge.
Run power up from the fridge inverter, no hoses to mount in a kitchen slide.
Life is good, I might even add another outlet in that spot to have 120V AC when on battery power, yes I know that I am limited, but it should power a laptop or a similar device.

The only thing I have not figured out is what looks a plastic tank above the bay that holds the inverter - water tank ????

Poor photos follow..
