Gotcha beat on this one. I'm working on 4 years and just found it.
Funny you posted this. I just found the same diagram under the steps as well. I've had the steps out probably a dozen times with checking batteries and other things. I always placed the steps on the ground just the way they come out. This past time I actually turned them over and found the diagram. The remaining adhesive, which was about 3/4", peeled off without tearing it to shreds. The diagram leaves alot to be desired but is kinda legible.
Let's see, paper wiring diagram facing the ground where moisture and spray from travel will get it nice and wet. It's not covered with anything water resistant like a plastic holder. Print is almost faded away due to exposure to the elements.
Am I nuts or wouldn't something like this belong in an Owner's Manual??????
