Dish PPV

I am told by Dish Network that you can only order PPV via an internet connection or by calling Dish directly and not remotely through the receiver. There will undoubtedly be places where we don't have internet or phone service.....has anyone found a solution for this or will be just out of luck in certain places?

We spend a lot of time where there is no cell service. We ended up getting a $60 a month sat phone. The time rolls over if you don't use it. Just depends how much you want PPV

How would you order PPV if you don't have internet or phone service? The Dish receiver uses either one of those to send your order in. A normal system does not transmit.

The sat phone (depending on model) gives you phone access

$60 for a Sat phone? That is awesome.

Would you mind telling us the company offering this?

Thanks,

Vin.

Couldnt you drive to a phone signal and order the PPV then come back to camp?

.....not very convenient especially if I don't have my toad. A PPV movie is not something I can't live without but It seems with this being mobile and that we can watch from nearly anywhere we should be able to order from anywhere as well.

Iridium Monthly Service Plans starts at $59.99. We have the next step up for $69.95 because it is twice the minutes for $10 more. And the minutes accumulate as long as you are on the plan

I didn't realize that sat phone service was so cheap. That seems to be a good option when travelling around.
