Dometic Heater Failure

I've got a 2007 391 on a UFO chassis. There are two heaters with individual controls. The front one failed to fire up last trip no matter what I tried while the back one lit just fine. I've done some research and will be headed out to the storage yard to see if the igniter is firing etc. I'll check all the electrical connections. Any other suggestions for what I should try?

First of all, Dometic heater? Are you sure? Didn't know they made them. As the theory behind the heaters are mostly all the same, try this Suburban Troubleshooting guide

Heater

If my heater could only put out the same heat as the red on my face is putting out now. Yes, its a Suburban not a Dometic. Now that we've established my I.Q. is a major obstacle to fixing the heater, any suggestions?

Heater Fix

I've printed the instructions from the link you kindly posted and will work my way through the steps. I'll post my experience so the bright people on this site can take advantage of my experience.

If I can fix it, then anyone can.

My only suggestion is that for all the work I've done on Suburban furnaces (I have totally rebuilt one piece by piece) is that it's amazing I have any hair left. On our last motorhome I spent a couple of years troubleshooting and repairing till I finally gave up and bought a new one. I thoroughly understand the functioning of every piece and how they are "supposed" to work but I'll be damned if I could fix that thing. If your under warranty take it back. Check the warranty on the unit itself as it may be more than that FR gives on the coach as a whole. Dometic fridges for example have a 2 year parts and labor, 3 years parts warranty.

The document I sent you too is a bit old but still fairly sound. For one thing most newer furnaces do not use a time delay relay anymore, no need for them so ignore that information.

Good luck brother, I feel for ya.
