door still wont close

After 3 visits to different dealers, and 3 times being told "gee we don't know what to do about it", our entry door STILL won't close. Happens when a) the levelers are deployed and/or the side of the coach heats up from the sun.

I am now in touch with Kevin Stratton at FR directly about it. We'll be in Elkhart in two weeks. I may be driving the coach to his office.

Can you see any place where it hits the door frame or is it in the door handle/lock ? Our door has always been tough to open and close. I usually have to push in some as I pull on the door handle to get it open and have to keep the door handle pulled out as I shut the door. Our deadbolt has a tendency to float closed and will bang the catch as I close the door.

It is hitting a couple places along the top of the frame. I've resorted to filing and whacking with a 2x4 but still no luck.

Somehow the frame is flexing or was installed crooked causing the door to contact the low points on the top. I know the doors are made from the cut-out piece of wall, but the frame is constructed elsewhere and the cut-out piece is trimmed to fit inside the frame piece that opens. Hopefully they'll have a solution when you get to Elkhart. Please post what they do to resolve the problem.

Might end up with a whole new door assembly before it's over with. Had to replace the door on our Tiffin due to it being warped. Very hard to close and never was right. Had to replace the door on our Forester due to improper installation. It closed, but was a huge gap on the striker side. Either way, very quick to install a new one. Less than a hour from removal to installed. Paint took a little longer.

At least in Heaven, RVs will be perfect, and I won't have to keep fixing them.

I had to adjust ours in many ways. Now it closes with one finger even during the hottest days. You gotta wonder about some of these service centers. Bring it up to Columbus and I'll fix yours.
