Double D - 2014 georgetown XL

I like to change my own oil and of course greasing.
My question , which i never thought of before is how much grease is required and can you over grease a unit?

I pump grease into a tie rod end or ball joint just til I hear the air pop from the boot. I try not to push grease out of the boot. And yes, I always wipe away the excess if there is any that does push out.
